Physical flow of merchandise- Distribution Centres: Importance, Process Functions, Outsourcing- Floor Ready Merchandise. The meaning and nature of distribution channels, Function and  its types .

Role of Information Technology: Information flow, Information sources (Internal, External) Retail Management Information System, Types of information systems. Information System in Logistics & Supply chain: Advantages, Quick Response Delivery System- its Benefits, Data Mining, Data Warehousing, RFID.

Supply Chain Management: Concept, Need, Evolution, Importance, Types of supply chain, Issues involved in developing supply chain management, Supply Chain Integration.

SCM Model- Porter’s Model of value chain, Coordination in SCM-Bullwhip effect, Improving supply chain forecasting.
