Objective: 

 The paper aims to familiarise learner with the principles and techniques of business research and communication for managerial decision making.

Definition, importance and types of business research, nature and scope of research methodology; Problem Formulation and Statement of Research Objectives, research process, research designs - Exploratory, Descriptive and Experimental Research Designs.

Methods of Data Collection - Observational and Survey Methods; Questionnaire Design, Attitude Measurement Techniques; Administration of Surveys; Sample Design.

Data analysis: measures of central tendency and dispersion, correlation and regression, probability distribution (Binomial, Poisson, Normal), sampling distribution, hypothesis testing, non parametric tests.

Nature, role, scope and importance of business communication, effective communication skills, process of communication, barriers and gateways in communication

Unit V: 

Individual and group communication. Oral communication- presentation of reports, public speaking and negotiation. Written communication.
