The Department of Commerce (Business Studies) in association with CGPDTM, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India organized a One Day Workshop on “Patent Writing: Claims & Specifications”. The session was conducted by Dr.Jitendra Sharma, Assistant Controller of Patents and Designs, Indian Patent Office, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Government of India. 

Dr.Ruchi Jain, Head Discipline of Business Studies felicitated the guest with memento.   The workshop was attended by the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the University. The workshop acquainted the students with various concepts of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

The session covered the claims and specifications of patent writing, that we as Indian citizens should be aware of.

The workshop focussed on:

• The Copyrights Act
• The Trade Marks
• The Patents Act
• The Design Act
• The Geographical Indications
• The Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout- Design Act
• Trade Secret

Towards the end of the workshop, a Quiz was conducted to assess the knowledge gained through the session. The workshop concluded with a brief round of Questions from the participants.
