On completion of this course, the students will be able to:

 

CO139:Student will examine the features of Indian economy and explore its position in the world economy.

CO140:Student will evaluate the need of different economic reforms and interpret the structural adjustments required for the economic development.

CO141:Student will examine the role of different public sector undertaking and economic policies in recent scenario.

CO142:Student will explore the significance of economic planning and globalization in Indian economy.

CO143:Student will examine the role of unemployment and Population growth as a retarding factor in economic development and critically evaluate the Present National Population Policy.

  • Basic Features of Indian Economy Causes of under development of Indian Economy, India as Mixed Economy, India’s Position in World Economy, determinants of Economic development, developed v/s developing economy.

  • Need for economic reforms, Macro Economic Stabilization- Control of Inflation, fiscal adjustment, balance of payments adjustment, Structural adjustments- trade and capital Flow reforms, industrial deregulation, disinvestment and financial Sector Reforms.

  • Meaning &Significance, Objectives of planning, Basic features of India’s Five-year plans, NITI  Aayog: Functions and Objectives.
  • Globalization- Meaning, Objectives, Positive & Negative impacts.

  • Meaning, Types, Causes and remedies to remove unemployment: E-NAM, Make in India.
  • Population: Main Features of census 2011, Demographic profile ,Health Policy.  Population growth as a retarding factor to Economic Development, Present National Population Policy
